Dog owners who have not licensed their dogs in town are late in doing so and will be charged late fees as of the first week in May. Letters have been mailed to delinquent pet owners and their names and the names of their dogs have been turned over to the dog officer. Fines will be imposed on dog owners of $1 per dog, per week after April 30th. If you are one of the above and no longer own a dog, please contact the Town Clerk at 743-3759 so that your name and that of your pet can be removed from the delinquent list.
All dogs are required to get an annual dog license in Savoy. All dogs and cats must be vaccinated against the rabies virus. A dog license can not be issued unless proof of a valid rabies vaccination can be produced by the owner of the dog.
Dog licenses can be requested by mail. Send your request to the Town Clerk, Savoy Town Office, 720 Main Rd. Please include a copy of the rabies certificate for proof of vaccination. The certificate will be returned with the new 2005 dog tags.
When requesting tags by mail, please do not send cash. Make checks out in the proper amount (including late fines) to The Town Of Savoy.
The Town Clerk has office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 4PM and [now until the end of May], on Saturday mornings from 10AM to Noon. from the Town Clerk
