Spring must be almost here as plans for the Annual Town Election are underway at the Town Clerk's office. Nomination papers are available from the Town Clerk and can be picked up during the week on Tuesday and Thursday between 1 and 5, Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 and on Saturday morning from 10 to noon. Candidates running for office must secure at least twenty (20) signatures of certified registered voters of the town by Tuesday, March 21st in order to have their names appear on the ballot. The last day to pick up nomination papers is Friday, March 17th. The following seats are up for re-election this year:
SELECTMAN (1) 3 YEAR TERM
ASSESSOR (1) 3 YEAR TERM
MODERATOR (1) 1 YEAR TERM
PARK COMMISSION (1) 3 YEAR TERM
THREE (3) PLANNING BOARD OPENINGS: 1 YEAR, 3 YEAR, and 5 YEAR TERMS
TAX COLLECTOR 3 YEAR TERM
TOWN CLERK 3 YEAR TERM
TREASURER 3 YEAR TERM
SCHOOL COMMITTEE 3 YEAR TERM
CEMETERY COMMISSION 3 YEAR TERM
